Department of Surgery is an important clinical component of Vivekanand Hospital. Clinical as well as diagnostic evaluation is provided to the patients of all age groups. Apart from the OPD services the department provides round the clock services given below

Minor OT and dressing room carries out dressings of new and follow-up patients. Some minor procedures are also done which include stitch removal, catheterization, small biopsies, FNAC, enema and specimen collection for culture.

OT time slots are allotted to each surgeon as per requirement. Emergency surgeries are carried out as and when required.

Working hours for OPD services are allotted as per availability of the consultants. Surgical procedures are planned and are reported to the OT incharge. The OT incharge prepares the schedule of the operations and informs the concerned doctor.
