Department of medicine is one of the major departments of Vivekanand Hospital. It has developed from being only general medicine initially to include well equipped subspecialities namely Critical Care,Emergency Medicine, Endoscopy, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Diabetology, Dermatology, Haematology, Gastroenterology, Psychiatry etc.

We provide round the clock services as indoor patient department and as intensive care unit and emergency medicine services. Nephrology services mainly include, haemodialysis facility. OPD nephrology consultation is also available. In endoscopy section upper G.I. scopy, sclerotherapy and colonoscopy is being done routinely. In Respiratory medicine subspeciality - OPD consultation, pulmonary function tests and rigid bronchoscopy is available. For HIV +ve cases OPD & IPD services are available. For HIV follow up patients CD4 counts and viral load measurement is available. For patients with Rheumatology complaints, OPD and IPD services are available.
