Vivekanand Hospital Latur is the pioneer multispecialty Hospital in Maharashtra, with the visionaryguidance of Dr. Ashok L Kukade; has started Department of Ayurveda with the mission of Comprehensive Health Care services to the patients of Latur and Marathwada. The Dept of Ayurvedawas started way back in 1995-96. The Department of Ayurveda served for the patients as well ascontributed in the research since its inception.

The Department of Ayurveda has been upgraded now with Panchkarma Treatment Unit of Keralian Specialty since Aug 15th, 2015. The department has been conducting almost all the Keralian Procedures for the patients.

The areas where Ayurveda treatments have been involved are Metabolic Diseases, Neurological Diseases and Skin diseases.

Metabolic diseases like Obesity, Type II Diabetes Mellitus, PCOD are being treated with Ayurveda & Panchkarma treatments in VHL. Neurological illness like Hemiplegia, Paraplegia, Bell’s Palsy, Neuropathy, Diabetic Neuropathy have been treated along with the conventional line of treatment. Ayurveda treatments are also being advised for the patients of Skin diseases like Pemphigus, Psoriasis.

The Department of Ayurveda now has been actively involved in INTERDISCIPLINARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES through hospital, where the services are being provided for COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CARE.

There are spectrum of Cancer conditions where the Department of Ayurveda is closely working with Department of Onco-surgery and Radiation Oncology of this hospital.

Comprehensive Care with extended care from Ayurveda Treatments is being provided in following areas.

The treatments with interdisciplinary approach includes:

• Acute side effects of Radiation in Oral Cancers
• Acute side effects of Radiation in Pelvic Cancers
• Secondary Prevention of Cancer that is Ayurveda immune enhancers in high risk cancers after standard treatment
• Ayurveda treatment for Cancers where there are limitations to the conventional standard of care
• Acute & late side effects of Chemotherapy
• Supportive care treatments for Quality of Life

We are the only centre providing Ayurvedic Treatments for Cancer hand in hand with Conventional Treatments at an Tertiary Cancer Care Centre, in Latur & Marathwada.
